National Youth Day Significance

  • To promote harmony and solidarity throughout the nation, individuals from all over India participate in a range of educational and cultural activities on National Youth Day.
  • At Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Swami Vivekananda’s followers also arrange devotional activities, say evening prayers, and practice meditation to make National Youth Day special.

Why do we Celebrate National Youth Day

National Youth Day aims to motivate the youth to promote the country for a better future. Additionally, it seeks to implement the greatest teachings of the revered leader, Swami Vivekananda. In some regions of the nation, the day is also known as Yuva Diwas. Through it, the government hopes to inspire and assist the nation’s youth. The goals established for National Young Day in 2025 represent the hopes and dreams of the country’s young.

  • Empowerment through Education: National Youth Day aims is to highlight the value of education as an instrument for self-determination.  The objective is to support and enable all young people to have access to high-quality education, creating a generation that is prepared to make significant contributions to society. 
  • Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Promoting entrepreneurship and innovation is one of the main goals of National Youth Day in 2024. The focus is on inspiring the youth to think creatively, take risks and become job creators. Initiatives and programs will be started to assist young innovators and entrepreneurs in bringing their ideas to reality.
  • Mental Health Awareness: Acknowledging the significance of mental health, National Young Day aims to increase young understanding regarding mental health. The goal is to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health problems, offer resources for support, and advance an understanding and compassionate society. 

National Youth Day History 

  • Swami Vivekananda’s birthday was initially observed as National Youth Day on January 12, 1984, by the Indian government. This year marks National Youth Day, observed around the country. 
  • The government’s main goal in making this decision was to raise the standard of living for the nation’s citizens by encouraging youth to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s life and achievements to revitalize youth’s enduring vitality and strengthen the nation’s economy.

41वा राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस रामकृष्ण मिशन सेवा आश्रम में धूमधाम से मनाया गया
आज रामकृष्ण मिशन सेवा आश्रम कनखल में 41वा राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस धूमधाम से मनाया गया। 
विभिन्न स्कूलों के छात्र-छात्राओं ने सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम और  विवेकानंद पर वक्तव्य प्रस्तुत किए।‌ 
  • कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत मां आनंदमई मेमोरियल स्कूल के बच्चों द्वारा सरस्वती वंदना से हुई। 
  • वागमिता प्रतियोगिता के विजेता अनिरुद्ध ने संस्कृत में स्वामी विवेकानंद के शिकागो भाषण को प्रस्तुत किया। डिबेट प्रतियोगिता के विजेता ईशान त्रिपाठी ने सोशल मीडिया के दुष्प्रभावों पर अपना पक्ष रखा ।
  • गौरतलब है कि इन विजेताओं ने एक माह पूर्व 14 स्कूलों और 400 बच्चों के  के क्विज डिबेट वाकपटुता प्रतियोगिताओं में हिस्सा लिया था और विजेता घोषित हुए थे.
  • गायत्री विद्यापीठ के छात्रों द्वारा नृत्य नाटिका के रूप में विष्णु स्तुति ने सबका मन मोह लिया।
  • आयुषी कन्है, रूचा अंशिका, वाणी तुरी द्वारा डीपीएस दौलतपुर के बच्चों ने बहुत सुंदर प्रस्तुति दी।
  • गनमानय अतिथियों में डॉ जितिन सिंगला, डॉ जितेंद्र चंदेला, अंकित नारंग और डॉक्टर राज के अरोड़ा,  उपस्थित रहे। डीपीएस दौलतपुर की प्राचार्या पूनम श्रीवास्तव और अमित़ा ओहरी ने  छात्राओं की नृत्य प्रस्तुति को सराहा।
  • मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में पधारे आईआईटी के प्रोफेसर जितिन सिंगला ने  जोन डी रॉक फैलर और जेआरडी टाटा के जीवन से स्वामी विवेकानंद से कितना प्रभावित थे और समाज के लिए सेवा में लग गए, इनका वर्णन किया‌.
  • उन्होंने कहा स्वामी जी के साथ दो क्षण बिताने में कितना उनका जीवन परिवर्तन हो गया। विशिष्ट अतिथि राज के अरोड़ा ने भी सफलता के मूल मंत्र बताए। अंकित नारंग ने छात्रों से अपना करियर करने के लिए गुर सिखाए।
  • पी कृष्णमूर्ति अय्यर और ब्रह्मचारी योगात्म चैतन्य ने मंच संचालन किया।

  • रामकृष्ण मिशन सेवाश्रम के सचिव स्वामी दयामूर्त्यानन्द ने कहा की स्वामी विवेकानंद के विचारों को युवाओं तक पहुंचाने और उनका देश की प्रगति में  अपनी भागीदारी देने के लिए हमने राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस पर यह सब कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया। विजेताओं में डीएवी पब्लिक स्कूल, आचार्यकुलम ,गुरु राम राय पब्लिक स्कूल, डीपीएस दौलतपुर के बच्चे शामिल रहे , जिन्हें स्वामी विवेकानंद साहित्य के साथ में मोमेंटो, स्कूल बैग, कैश प्राइज दिया गया।
  • 14 स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल और कोऑर्डिनेटर को पुरस्कार वितरण किया गया।
  • रामकृष्ण मिशन सेवाश्रम मैनेजमेंट कमेटी के सदस्य विकास गोयल  नीरज कुमार, सुधांशु अगरवाल, प्रदीप चौधरी एवं डॉ समरजीत चौधरी डॉक्टर नवीन अग्रोही, मिनी योहानन, गोकुल सिंह, ईशित्वा, अमरजीत सचदेवा आदि उपस्थित रहे

AIIMS Director Rishikesh visited our RKMS charitable hospital on this auspicious day.
She went around the hospital and the Sevashrama.
She was very much delighted to learn about the Sevashrama services during these 121 years of service which was started in the year 1901 by Swami Kalyanananda 
( A direct disciple of Swami Vivekananda ).
She also interacted with the type 1 diabetic children who are leading a happy and normal life.
The director of AIIMS Rishikesh and the Secratary of RKMS Haridwar had a discussion to have a MoU for a better medical service.
May bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna bless all on this auspicious day.

The National Youth Day programme began on January 12 with the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshananda Giri Maharaj, Juna Akhada Pithadhishwar, garlanding Swamiji statue and the fruits distribution to indoor patients.

The Chief Guest also inaugurated an advanced Department of Dentistry and the newly acquired Biochemistry & Immuno-assay Analyser machine in our laboratory. 

He also inaugurated a free dental camp, that was organised in association with Seema Dental College and Hospital, Rishikesh. Around 100 patients were screened and treated.

Following this, a Youth Program was organized in which approximately 400 students participated. Students from nearby schools and a nursing college participated in the function by way of speeches, singing, Yoga Demonstration etc.

Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj, Juna Akhada Pithadhishvar delivered the presidential and benedictory address.  

Shri Prem Chand Agarwal Ji, Uttarakhand's finance and urban development minister, presided over the function as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Ramesh Pokriyal "Nishank" ji, Honourable MP, Haridwar, also participated and addressed the students.

We celebrated "Swamiji’s Tithi Puja" on January 14, 2023, followed by a special puja of Sri Sri Thakur and Swamiji and bhajans and kirtans. 

At 11:00 am, all indoor patients of the hospital were ceremoniously worshipped as "Rogi Narayan" with the offerings of sandal paste, a garland, and sweets in the presence of many sadhus, devotees, nurses, and other hospital staff. Shri Sanjay Gupta, former MLA of Haridwar, was also a part of this ceremony and garlanded Swamiji’s Statue. The noon prasad was served to approximately 600 on that day.

Dear Devotees / Well wishers,
To create awareness about diabetes, the hospital conducted the World Diabetes Day on Sunday the 13th November, 2022. Director of AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. M Srinivas graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sri Prateek Jain, IAS, Chief Development Officer, Haridwar, Dr. Kumar Khagendra Singh, CMO, Haridwar, Dr. Ajay Kumar, DG Health Office, Dehradun, Sri Rajendra Singh Kathaith, Pollution Control Board, Dehradun, Dr. Vinod, AIIMS, Rishkesh and Dr. Jaydeep Arya, Chairman, Haryana Yog Aayog and Dr. Sunil Ahuja, Emergency Room Medicine, USA, attended the function as Special Invitees. 

For the last 15 years, more than 300 Type I Diabetic children and adults have been given free insulin, glucometer and other necessities by Sevashrama with the help of our generous donors.

Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama Kankhal, Haridwar celebrated the Jayanti day of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Dev with special Puja and Homa in the temple.
On this auspicious day, the newly developed website of the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama was also launched in the presence of the monks and staff of the Sevashrama amidst Vedic chanting. After the Puja and Homa more than 600 devotees and staff were served with cooked Prasad.
